Rahu is Saturn like. He represents material desire, master of deception, delusion, obsessing, limitations, adversity, low status, traveling, foreign, bites/stings, toxicity, renunciation, harsh speech, fear, unconventional, attachment, addiction, and family karma.
Rahu is the God of the ascending north lunar node. According to the Shastras (ancient scriptures), during the churning of the milk ocean, the asura Rahu drank some of the divine nectar (amrit). But before the nectar could pass his throat, Mohini (the female incarnation of Vishnu) cut off his head. The head, however, remained immortal and is called Rahu, while the rest of the body became Ketu. It is believed that this immortal head occasionally swallows the sun or the moon, causing eclipses. Rahu’s vehicle is a lion.
